NLACRC & Family Resource Center Support Groups

NEW! - Social Support Group
This group is run by and for adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities in the San Fernando Valley. They meet each month during the day to socialize and plan fun activities to do together. Free membership. Members pay for the activities that they attend. Contact Brenden Carlson (818) 527-1878

Community Living Program Review Committee

Cultivar Y Crecer Parent Support Group
A group for Spanish-speaking family members of NLACRC consumers. Meetings are held twice a month at NLACRC’s San Fernando Valley office. For more information, please call (818) 778-1900.

Friends of Autism Support Group
For families, relatives, caregivers, and professionals involved with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Meets every 4th Thursday of the month, 10 to 11 a.m. at Family Focus Resource & Empowerment Center's Antelope Valley Office.

Filipino Support Group
A group for Filipino family members of NLACRC consumers. Meetings are held once a month at NLACRC’s San Fernando Valley office.

Just 4 Us
A The Just 4 Us Social Support Group is run by and for adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities who like to make crafts, plan activities and share ideas. Family and friends are welcome.The NLACRC Self-Advocacy Group is a social support group run by and for adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities Coordinators- Mary Abitia and Paula DeAmicis.

Independent Living Skills Class for Adults with Disabilities
Organized by the Los Angeles Unified School District Division of Adult and Career Education. At Hughes Education & Career Center, 5607 Capistrano Avenue, Woodland Hills, (818) 999-6396. Subjects include functional reading and math, self-care, communication, basic computer use, community resources and job preparation. Please call for more information.
